Above Sub-Floor Radiant Heating Panel When Concrete Is Not Used

What is Rad Board?

Rad Board is the solution for easy, above sub-floor hydronic radiant heating installations. Unlike staple-up solutions and competitors’ above sub-floor products, Rad Board allows an easy method to run radiant floor lines in virtually any pattern and room you need.

No more running past your zones. No more punching through the sub-floor to get back to your manifold. No more working under the floor. Now you can easily isolate any area and get the tubing pattern you need.

Rad Board is a modular panel that comes in three patterns with grooves to hold 1/2" Pex and PE-RT. Its aluminum backing helps even the thermal transfer and the MDF core’s thermal transfer properties has just the right amount of density for quick reaction with long heat retention.

Compared to Other Panels, Rad Board...
• Is easier to install
• Uses 1/2" Pex/PE-RT tubing instead of 3/8" tubing
• Costs less than the competitors
• Provides virtually any pattern layout with three simple panel designs

Install It Yourself!
Designed with 8" on-center locking grooves to hold ½" Pex or PE-RT lines, Rad Board makes it easy to maintain lines within each zone. With three panel designs that require little to no onsite customization, installation is straightforward and simple.

Customize It to Your Plan

Rad Board is 2' x 2' x ¾" aluminum-backed radiant heating floor panel that installs over your sub-floor and under your floor covering with a density that reacts faster than concrete without the risk of “running away.” Common floor coverings used over Rad Board include tile, laminate, engineered wood, hardwood, vinyl and carpet. Rad Board provides much greater radiant tube pattern design flexibility than staple-up solutions and greater heat transfer properties. It’s the choice contractors and homeowners are making for efficient and economical radiant floors.

Radiant Panel Solution Made Simple!
• Customize for any space
• Above sub-floor installation offers design and installation flexibility
• The perfect alternative to above-grade concrete slabs that cannot be used due to structural or cost constraints
• Much easier to isolate rooms and zones than staple-up solutions
• Competitively-priced with easier installation and customization

2' x 2' Straight Track Rad Board panel. Rad Board panels are 3/4" thick aluminum-backed panels with 8" on center straight channels designed for 1/2" PEX or PE-RT radiant tubing. Tracks securely hold tubing in place and provide a flush finish allowing for easy installation of your floor covering. Straight channels are used for the straight radiant tube runs and are the primary panel you will need for your installation especially for larger areas where less turns are required.

Common floor coverings include tile, laminate, engineered wood, hardwood, vinyl and carpet. Consult your installation instructions for these products to ensure proper installation over radiant flooring.

Use the Straight Track Rad Board panel in combination with our Ultimate and Distribution Track panels to complete your above sub-floor installation. Our complimentary design service is included with a minimum purchase and will allow us to calculate the layout of the panels needed for your floor plan.

2' x 2' Ultimate Track Rad Board panel. The Ultimate Track panel is a 3/4" thick aluminum-backed panel with curved and straight tracks allowing you to maintain 8" on center curved and straight patterns designed for 1/2" PEX or PE-RT radiant tubing. The Ultimate board allows for maximum flexibility in routing your tubing and is used along walls or where turns will be needed. Tracks securely hold tubing in place and provide a flush finish allowing for easy installation of your floor covering.

Common floor coverings include tile, laminate, engineered wood, hardwood, vinyl and carpet. Consult the floor covering instructions for the correct installation over radiant flooring products.

2' x 2' Distribution Track Rad Board panel. The Distribution panel is a 3/4" thick aluminum-backed panel with tracks designed to "distribute" radiant lines from the manifold in each loop. Sized for the most common manifolds available today, the Distribution Track can be easily modified to adjust to larger or smaller zones by reducing onsite customization of connecting the lines to the manifold without "diving" under the sub-floor. Tracks securely hold tubing in place and provide a flush finish allowing for easy installation of your floor covering.
